The range of topics explored in their chapters are as varied as the authors themselves: the travails and triumphs of visual impairment, the difficulties of marginalization, tough decisions about leaving home for the Kentucky School for the Blind, coming to terms with mental health issues, the changes of perspective that attend pregnancy and childbirth, pastoral recollections of rural communities, an autodidact's path to producing internet radio shows, and the relief of finding community and achieving independence.
