  • Library Journal Reviews : LJ Reviews 2022 October

Dobbins's accessible book is for beginners or more advanced needlework artists who want to create their own beautiful works of thread art. There is no focus on perfection. Rather, there is a whole project emphasis and a philosophy that everything will balance itself out. If readers are intimidated by a particular technique, this book shows there may be another, less stressful option to customize the project. The introductory supply list and stitch instructions are clearly written and easy to understand. Every pattern is also pictured multiple times with clear steps to achieve it. Dobbins writes in such a way that readers will feel she is on their side cheering them on with helpful tips to help make the project easier, customized, and beautiful. VERDICT A well-written book that will continue to expand embroidery collections and encourage creativity along the way.—Sarah Sieg
