Summary:

The Bittersweet War: When Mike Sartain, the Revenger, rides into the Big Bend country of West Texas, he's hard on the trail to Old Mexico, for bounty hunters and lawmen are clogging up his back trail. Only, as it often does, trouble finds him in the Davis Mountains, in the little town of Bittersweet, which turns out to be appropriately named. While the women of Bittersweet are sweet, indeed, they can also be bitter...but for good reason. Secrets abound in the town and in the mountains, as well, where a dead man of questionable identity molders in a shallow grave. A couple of pretty girls draw the Revenger into the Bittersweet drama, but he soon wishes they hadn't...especially when the Chaney family feud turns deadly and leaves the Revenger out cold at the bottom of a remote desert canyon, a feast for the carrion-eaters.
Gold Dust Woman: A beautiful ranch woman from Lincoln County, New Mexico, wants Mike Sartain to kill her husband, a county sheriff under Pat Garrett. The woman thinks her husband, possessed by an evil Apache spirit, murdered their three young sons. Is Everett Chance really evil or is his wife loco? But that's only the beginning of Sartain's problems. He's also tracked the last surviving killer of his beloved Jewel to the town of Gold Dust where, sporting a couple of the Revenger's own bullets, Scrum Wallace is being protected by a handful of Lincoln County renegades, including the Gold Dust town Marshal. Two jobs have overlapped, and the tall, handsome Cajun finds himself in a whipsaw!
