Designed to meet the needs of students of all ages who are assessed below the high school level. Passages and exercises are specifically targeted for lower-level readers while focusing on higher order thinking skills. Key concepts and vocabulary are presented across the content areas along with thinking skills and graphic materials. Before and after each study unit, students will find a test. The first test is a brief diagnostic, and the concluding tests helps student measure what they have learned as they progressed through the unit. All test questions come with answer explanations for self-scoring and review.
Writing -- offers instruction and practice in sentence structure, verb usage, and paragraph organization, as well as step-by-step lessons on effective essay writing.
Mathematics -- presents examples and instruction on specific math concepts, andoffers strategies for solving word problems; includes instructions for using a calculator, special test format questions, and graphic material.
Science -- presents the vocabulary used in the world of science and offers basic scientific concepts pertaining to life science, earth and space science, and physical science.
Social Studies -- reviews key concepts and topics in U.S. history, government, world history, geography, and economics.
Reading -- provides a foundation in comprehending types of documents and passages cited in the GED reading test: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama.
