School Library Journal Reviews : SLJ Reviews 2007 February Gr 1-3-Simple, easy-to-read narratives introduce each habitat. Everything students need for reports is beautifully depicted with scenic full-color photographs of the land, the plants, and the animals that live there. Each reader opens with a phonetic "Word Hunt" and ends with a glossary. A "Find Out More" section recommends one book and a Web site. The one offered in Prairie is ideal; however, the site in Coral Reef is too advanced, while the one in Tundra was unavailable. Large typeface and colorful and engaging design make these titles solid choices for this unit of study, and they are great alternatives for curious readers who prefer nonfiction to fiction.-Wanda Meyers-Hines, Loudoun County Public Schools, Ashburn, VA Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
